{"id":23420,"date":"2017-04-25T09:58:29","date_gmt":"2017-04-25T08:58:29","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.arcc-network.org.uk\/?page_id=23420"},"modified":"2017-04-25T09:58:29","modified_gmt":"2017-04-25T08:58:29","slug":"gi-design-challenge-launch","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.arcc-network.org.uk\/adaptive-places\/green-infrastructure-design-challenge\/gi-design-challenge-launch\/","title":{"rendered":"GI design challenge launch"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>Technical spec &amp; launch<\/h2>\n<p>This event, part of Green Sky Thinking Week, will feature talks by leading experts, presentations from shortlisted design teams and announcement of the winning and highly commended entries.<\/p>\n<p>We\u2019re looking for designs for office buildings (existing or in planning) that demonstrate how both indoor and outdoor green infrastructure can contribute to the health, wellbeing and productivity of staff, while simultaneously improving the building\u2019s energy efficiency and climatic resilience.<\/p>\n<p>The interaction of indoor plants with heating, cooling, acoustic management, air quality, staff productivity and wellbeing is an exciting and growing area of research: the benefits of green infrastructure don\u2019t need to remain outside the building entrance.<\/p>\n<h2>Recording of launch webinar<\/h2>\n<div class=\"video-container-16x9\"><iframe src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/HagSyqoLNh8?rel=0&amp;showinfo=0?ecver=2\" frameborder=\"0\"allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/div>\n<h3>Judging criteria<\/h3>\n<p>The proposals will be judged on evidence provided against the following categories:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Health, wellbeing and productivity of staff \u2013 improving staff working environment including the indoor \/ outdoor air quality<\/li>\n<li>Improving energy efficiency \u2013 looking for solutions that complement and enhance existing building systems<\/li>\n<li>Climate resilience \u2013 improving thermal comfort, water management and flood prevention measures<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Design submissions must make clear any associated requirements for the building\u2019s maintenance and management regime.<\/p>\n<p>The design should demonstrate consideration of:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>the building curtilage \u2013 the surroundings: street scene, plazas, courtyards, other public spaces surrounding the building<\/li>\n<li>the external building surfaces<\/li>\n<li>the building\u2019s interior<a id=\"submission\"><\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Technical spec &amp; launch This event, part of Green Sky Thinking Week, will feature talks by leading experts, presentations from shortlisted design teams and announcement of the winning and highly commended entries.
